Who I am

I'm a network and cybersecurity engineer known as Sam, with over five years of hands-on experience running mission-critical infrastructure in high-compliance environments — including sole responsibility for a nationwide network at 99.9% uptime.

Holding an MSc in Cybersecurity Engineering from the University of Warwick (WMG Excellence Scholar) and a Black Hat Europe 2024 Scholarship recipient, I work across the full security stack: network hardening, SOC operations, penetration testing, cloud security, and digital forensics.

Outside the terminal, I am an active drummer — performing at university events, sessions, and informal gigs. Drumming has been part of my life for years, and it has shaped how I approach everything else I do.

The parallels with engineering are closer than they look. Holding a groove under pressure, reading the room, and keeping every element of a complex system in sync — that is what drumming and infrastructure engineering have in common.

Being part of a band teaches you to listen more than you speak, to support the team rather than overpower it, and to stay calm when things go wrong mid-performance. These are not soft skills. They are hard-won professional instincts.
